Also, I'm writing another blog with my friend Alex where we just watch/read things and then write about them. Basically all I do on this blog, except with her. There are only four posts so far, so if you're interested you can easily catch up HERE.
It's sunny and I just got a haircut. Not much could make today better.
Then I thought, hang on a second: I have an MA in this writing stuff, shouldn't I know all this already? Obviously getting a degree in something does not make you an expert, and does not teach you everything there is to know, but still. I'm supposed to be a MASTER and technically be able to teach this stuff. Why do I need the internet?
But I realized really, that all the things I was looking up were things I knew already anyway. I guess I just needed confirmation that what I thought was the way things are, which is fine. Momentary doubt in my education passed, crisis averted.
So back to contradictions. That's probably why girls seems to go for the bad guys, because they are interesting. 'But they're so sweet to me in private- it's only around other people that they treat me badly.' Everything we seek out in life, be it relationships or things to do or places to see are all to keep life interesting. I just saw the new Gatsby film, and for the first time I was struck with Gatsby's madness. He's extremely intelligent, was able to make himself into a respectable gentleman from nothing at all, but he's blinded to the truth by love. Cyrano- perfect specimen of a human being, but with a gigantic nose and low to nonexistent self esteem that goes along with it. Aragorn- has all the qualities to be the prefect king, except that he doesn't want to be king at all. And so on and so forth. I guess this is just me justifying to myself that I know what I'm talking about. I could talk about this stuff all day long, but when it comes to doing it, I usually just write blogs about doing it instead of actually doing it. Woops.
That's all I have to say today. Check out my blog from today on the other one, it's much better.
